Leticia Wright continues to demand an apology and a change of the hollywood reporterwith her again calling out one of the post’s writers for an alleged vendetta against her.
the star of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever she has been reported with innuendo over the past two years for her alleged views on COVID-19 vaccination and reportedly delayed filming due to hesitancy to get vaccinated. THR Writer Scott Feinberg apparently equates Wright’s past vaccine controversy to alleged Hollywood sex offenders like Bryan Singer and Roman Polanski in an article published last week.
The Guyanese-British actress brought up the first article in a heartfelt plea for her name to be removed from being associated with suspected predators.
Wright is again on the defensive, sharing how the outlet refused to apologize to her for the article while taking aim at Feinberg in a series of Instagram Story posts. Feinberg hasn’t covered himself in glory for the past month, with him tweeting a decidedly tactless joke about Harvey Weinstein and She said.
His most moving slide was when he once again called the outlet to apologize and for his editor-in-chief to take action. Wright documented how her experience has left her unchained, especially when comparing her to alleged abusers when she herself is a survivor of sexual assault.
“As someone who is currently in therapy to get over my own experience of sexual abuse. This is not OK. It is incredibly triggering and alarming that the hollywood reporter, Scott Feinberg and everyone on this post have made it clear to me and my team that they will not apologize or remove my name from this most dangerous and disgusting article. Comparing myself to these cases of sexual abuse and misconduct is extremely alarming. It’s been two years and I apologized two years ago, I’ve put up with a lot, especially from this post and others. Editor-in-chief, why haven’t you fixed this?
There’s a deeply uncomfortable aspect of the whole Wright discussion that feels rooted in the Internet’s inability to forget. Wright shared the anti-vaccine sentiment in 2020 but has since since apologized and there is no confirmation that he delayed filming on it. wakandan forever.
Co-star Angela Bassett said she never heard Wright share dangerous COVID rhetoric in their time together, while the Marvel vice president said something similar. For all intents and purposes, Wright has put himself in a position where he is not allowed to make amends. Given how confusing and long the pandemic has been for everyone, it would be hard to find someone who wouldn’t say something that could be taken very far.
Wright appears to be threatening potential legal action against THRand it’s most likely a libel case if the outlet doesn’t back down.
