Nicole Kidman will star in a new HBO limited series

Nicole Kidman teams up with ‘PEN15’ actress Maya Erskine for another limited series. The actress of ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ is set to lead and executive produce the adaptation of the HBO series thriller novel by Leïla Slimani, ‘The Perfect Nanny’.

This will be Kidman’s the third and latest collaboration with HBO, after working together on the dramas ‘Big Little Lies’ and ‘The Undoing.’ The series will also have Erskine in an acting role, as well as a writer and executive producer for the project.

Slimani’s novel was inspired by the 2012 murder of two children of the Krim family, who were stabbed to death by their caretaker. The novel is called ‘Chanson Douce’, or ‘Lullaby’ in English.

The novel, originally published in France, follows the increasingly codependent relationship between a couple and the nanny they hire for their children. His translated version became an international bestseller.

The logline for HBO reads: “A seemingly perfect nanny works for a couple with two young children, but her helpful personality eventually deteriorates into something sinister.”

The project will be executive produced by Per Saari for Blossom films, Philippe Godeau for Pan-Européenne and Pascal Caucheteux for Why Not Productions. It is a production of Legendary Entertainment and HBO.

Kidman’s upcoming projects

Kidman is working on several upcoming projects. The 55-year-old will star in Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming ‘Lioness’ series. Kidman will also executive produce the series.

‘Lioness’ is based on a real CIA operation. The show will follow a team of operatives trying to take down a terrorist organization from the inside by using a female operative to infiltrate the organization.

Kidman will star alongside other actors such as Morgan Freeman, Zoe Saldaña and Laysla De Oliveira. There is no set date for the release of the series yet.

Erskin is also busy with current and upcoming work. He is currently filming ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Comedy TV. series based on the 2005 film of the same name, created by Donald Glover.

She also starred in Netflix’s upcoming animated action series ‘The blue-eyed samurai.’ Erskine is rumored to play the lead voice.

‘Blue Eye Samurai’ will focus on a mixed-race swordsman who lives a disguised life seeking revenge in Edo-period Japan. Erskine’s official character name and series release date have not yet been revealed.
