Harmony Home – South Platte Sentinel

Harmony Home Assisted Living opened its first location in October 2017 in Sterling by owner and operators, Scott and Kendall Rubottom. The building at 703 Holly Drive was vacant for several years. Scott, owner of Sterling Handyman Construction, and Kendall, a registered nurse for 11 years, started working on a great idea. With their combination of skill, talent, and professional experience, they began to brainstorm ideas.
renovation of the building and convert it into a home for the elderly. After doing a lot of research, they saw assisted living as a great need for the community for years to come.

During the renovation process, the kitchen was completely remodeled, fresh paint and flooring were added throughout with showers in each room for resident privacy. Since The Harmony Home opened its doors in October 2017, they have steadily increased the number of residents until they reach full capacity.

Additionally, on February 1, 2019, they acquired their second location in Yuma, Colorado. The Harmony Home Yuma is a 25-bed assisted living. In April 2021, during Covid, Scott and Kendall were contacted again to expand their business by purchasing The Beehive Assisted Living in Sterling and Fort Morgan Colorado, giving Harmony Home a total of 78 beds across four locations.

Harmony Home’s staff and owners pride themselves on personalized attention in a home-like environment. They work closely with the family and doctors to make sure the needs of the resident are being met. Some
Services offered by The Harmony Home are: On-staff Registered Nursing Consultant, Well-trained staff on duty 24 hours a day, Three nutritious home-cooked meals per day plus any desired snacks, Daily housekeeping services, Personal laundry and clothing services white, private amenities in each room, showers according to care plan, daily hair and personal care, medication management, transportation arrangements if necessary, weekly linen changes (more often if necessary), emergency call system provided and monitored, Dish Network TV, activity/exercise programs and -like atmosphere.

Kendall works closely with her staff to ensure they provide the best possible care for her
