CITE 2022: The conference will showcase IT leadership and the newest technologies

California IT in Education occupies the Long Beach (California) Convention Center from Tuesday, November 29 to Friday, December 2 for its annual conference. CITE 2022 promises new technology insights and entrepreneurship for education IT leaders.

The event will feature general sessions as well as exclusive events that require pre-registration, such as Lunch-n-Learns, a DEI breakfast, and an IT Ninja Warrior competition.

Also, this year’s conference will benefit Girls Who Codean organization working to close the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers.

With all the exciting possibilities, and only four days to see it all, attendees should plan ahead to get the most out of their event experience. Here’s a sneak peek of what not to miss at CITE 2022:

Keynotes, roundtables and panels offer information for IT leaders

This year’s CITE conference will feature two outstanding keynote speakers, each covering a topical topic in today’s educational environment. Cybersecurity expert John Sileo will share his identity theft story and the importance of having a strong security strategy. Danielle Feinberg, Visual Effects Supervisor at Pixar Animation Studios, will detail her experience as a woman in a male-dominated industry.

These issues of safety and diversity in leadership are among the top topics attendees can expect to encounter at the event. Roundtables, such as one with women in IT, and other sessions will cover these topics throughout the week.

Other prevalent topics at the CITE 2022 conference include esports and leadership skills, the latter aiming to provide practical advice to current and aspiring IT professionals. Meanwhile, the esports sessions will showcase California esports industry leaders and help schools understand the research behind the games as an educational pursuit.

Vendors plan after-hours edtech demos and social events

CITE 2022 will be the place to learn about new educational technologies poised to steal the spotlight in 2023 and beyond.

Vendors like Promethean, Airtame, Lightspeed Systems, and AWS Education will travel to Long Beach for the event.

Attendees can preview Promethean’s ActivPanel 9, a next-generation interactive display, and Airtame’s new meeting tool, Airtame Hub with Airtame Rooms.

Lightspeed Systems and AWS Education are teaming up for a post-conference social for guests in the area who want to learn more after the Wednesday sessions end.
