The Sentinel offers nonprofits and other community organizations the opportunity to promote upcoming events for free on the community calendar for three days prior to the event. Events that require reservations can be promoted up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.

Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

• Free Thanksgiving Meal — November 24, provided by New Life Church 101 N. Beech St., Burnham. Takeout will be available for pick up between

9 a.m.-noon. Inmates can receive free delivery to Lewistown, Burnham, Yeagertown, Reedsville and Milroy. Reserve your meals by calling (717) 242-1481 at the latest

2 p.m. November 23.

• Mifflin County Chapter Luncheon of the Pennsylvania School Retirees Association — noon, December 1, Birch Hill Events Center. The Mifflin County High School singing group Cantare, led by Vicki Fensterbush, will perform. The menu is broccoli salad, stuffed chicken breast, red potatoes with parsley, mixed greens, rolls and cheesecake. The cost is $14. Reserve by November 25 by emailing [email protected]embarqmail.com or by calling (717) 437-6024 by noon on November 25. All school retirees are welcome.

• Pancake breakfast —

7 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 3 at First United Methodist Church, Lewistown. Tickets available with any Kiwanis member. $7 adults, $3 children.

• Fourth Annual Santa’s Breakfast at Milroy Hose Co. — December 17 at 9 am or 11 am Visit Santa from 9:30 am to noon. The cost is a donation. Proceeds benefit a local family. Make reservations by calling (717) 667-2388 no later than December 8.

• Coffee with friends —

9 a.m.-noon at Lack-Tuscarora EMS, 9320 South Route 75, East Waterford.

• Dominoes — 9 am, Yeagertown Senior Center.

• Blood Drive — 12:30-6 pm, Port Royal Community Center.

• Breadbreaking Dinner — 5 pm, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main St., Lewistown. Takeaway Menu: Ham Balls and Macaroni and Cheese.

Wednesday, November 23

• Bingo — 9:30-11 am, Lewistown Senior Center.

• 1966 Chief Logan Class Luncheon — 11 am at Vince’s in Burnham.

• Mission Quilts — 1 pm, Yeagertown Senior Center. No sewing knowledge required. Helpers are needed.
