NEWRY’s chief accountant, Feargal McCormack, has received a lifetime achievement award.
The founder and managing partner of FPM Accountants claimed the coveted gong at the 16th AIB Business Eye Awards at ICC Belfast, where winners in 19 different categories included Lidl, FinTrU, Bathshack and Hagan Homes.
Mr. McCormack was personally chosen by the judges for the special award, given to an individual who has made a significant and lasting contribution to his own business and industry and also to the broader business community and northern economy.
Business Eye editor Richard Buckley said: “This year’s winner is perfect for a lifetime achievement award, and as soon as one of our judging panel mentioned his name, we agreed on the spot and finished the discussion. . . we had our winner.

The winner, accompanied to the awards dinner by his wife Anne, son Ruairi and business partners from FPM, said: “I am humbled, surprised and honored to receive this lifetime achievement award.
