This series is a darker version Six of crows, appealing to an older audience that appreciates these darker depictions of fantasy. Although Lynch has yet to complete this ongoing series, the story has been popular with readers who enjoy the creepy underbelly of fantasy stories.
9/10 Infernal Devices would probably be more successful than Shadowhunters

One aspect fans love about this story is that the synopsis didn’t do the plot justice, making them think it was just a fantasy romance and shocking them with the much deeper concept it turns into. The story would make an exciting mini-series, a rarity in the fantasy genre, or it would make a good starting point to expand the story for fans who couldn’t get enough.

Red Queen, by Victoria Aveyard, is an epic fantasy series with four main novels and several novellas. The world of this series is divided into two types of people: Red, who are powerless ordinary people, and Silver, who possess superpowers. However, when one Red learns that she has magical powers, it threatens the dysfunctional order of their world.
Many readers have compared this to many versions of the X-Men series, feeling that the social injustice and stereotypes reflect similar great stories. According to Cinemablend, Peacock has announced its intentions to develop the series into a TV adaptation, exciting fans who have been waiting for this epic on-screen version.
6/10 The Hobbit would be better as a TV mini-series
The Hobbit is one of JRR Tolkein’s success stories outside Lord of the Rings trilogy. Although all adaptations of his stories have been successful within the genre, many dedicated fans have found some major disappointments in the The Hobbit movies.
Bilbo Baggins’ journey within his own story is an exciting epic without much depth compared to Tolkein’s other epic stories within the world of Middle-earth. Some fans of this standalone series feel that the novel is well set up for an episodic series and would work well with each chapter or two broken up into a deeper series of episodes.
5/10 Malazan Book Of The Fallen Series would be the most epic experience on screen
Although the epic about The Malazan Book of the Fallen series ended in 2011, it is still praised by fans within the genre. The series has ten volumes, but the stories, characters and different plots are within the world of the Malazan Empire.
This fantasy series is extremely complex, but the concept of using a role-playing-like plot that used a modified version of the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons scope made this a sensation for dedicated fans. While some creators have tried and failed to develop films based on the epic story, the vast scope of the world would make for an exciting fantasy series that could rival in complexity Game of Thrones.
4/10 The Broken Earth trilogy will go down in history just like the novels
The Broken Earth Trilogy by NK Jemisin made history by winning the Hugo Award, making Jemisin the first author to win the award in a number of years. The world of silence is a fantasy world where the magic within the world is used as a weapon, causing the catastrophic destruction of civilization.
The trilogy is currently being adapted into a film, and another of Jemisin’s series is being adapted into a TV series. However, some fans want the fascinating, complicated world of this story to develop into a deeper series.
3/10 A Court of Thorns and Roses is an epic mix of romance and violence
The Court of thrones and roses The series, written by modern fantasy bestselling author Sarah J. Maas, began as a convoluted adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, but blossomed into a thrilling tale of war, romance, and finding one’s place in the world.
Sarah J. Maas confirmed on her Instagram that the series will be adapted into a show for Hulu with the help of creator Ron Moore Outlander. Maas has a dedicated fan base who are excited to see this modern yet epic fantasy world come to life on their screens. The popularity of Maas’ novels means that this series has the potential to rival the best fantasy series of the 21st century.

Who is afraid of death, by Nnedi Okorafor, is another standalone novel that stands out among genres. The world is set in a post-apocalyptic, fantasy civilization in Africa. The main character, Onyesonwu, whose name means “who fears death”, is a sorceress of two races who must overcome great obstacles to prove her worth and follow her destiny.
This fantasy world brings the usual forms of magic and fate, but has a complex world that touches on some serious real-world themes. The story hits all the right chords, as evidenced by HBO picking up the story as a TV series with George RR Martin as executive producer, according to Okorafor’s website.
1/10 The Earthsea saga needs another chance
Saga of Earth Sea, by Ursula Le Guin, is a popular wizarding world within fantasy and is considered one of the pinnacle of the genre. The story received a TV adaptation in 2004, which was not positively evaluated, receiving harsh criticism for its embarrassing cover-up.
Despite the disappointment of the previous mini-series, many fans believe that this renowned series deserves another chance to succeed. Let’s assume the creators adapted this story with more care for the source material and respect for modern audiences. In that case, it has the potential to be just as successful as other adaptations of best-selling fantasy series.
