Mark Fields, the president of Ford’s Americas group, reiterated this point in his weekly e-mail to managers Friday, asking them to induce every worker to talk up Ford with buddies, family and any media that they could encounter. But it is in the end as much as the automakers to build autos that meet these requirements. Automakers that received billions of dollars in bailouts from the taxpayers work for us now.
